Web Design

I am a freelance web and graphic designer with a background in Adobe Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Cascading Style Sheets, HTML/XHTML, and several server technologies including ASP.NET, PHP, Perl, and Python. I also do work with online databases, and can build and customizes a website to your specifications. I have built content management system templates from scratch, and hand-code all of my work. I have built several templates for WordPress, the internet’s most popular open-source blog platform, and have worked with other CMS systems. My rates are reasonable, so drop me a line if you are interested. Below are some examples of my work.

I do most of my development in Adobe Dreamweaver and hand code my XHTML and CSS for maximum browser compatibility. I do all of my testing cross platform in all the major browsers including Internet Explorer 7 and 8, Firefox 3 and 3.6, Safari 3 and 4, and Google Chrome 3 and 4. This covers the vast majority of all users, but if you have a particular need for testing in a certain environment, I will do my best to maximize compatibility for everything.

The Colorado Crocks

Colorado Crocks

The Colorado Crocks is a site designed for a family to share their news as well as to market a property they are renting out. It is built on top of Drupal, one of the most popular open source content management systems. Full design time for this page was very short since it was simple and Drupal’s template system was very easy to work with. For this I also built a Flash slideshow which is customizable using XML to load data from an external source.

WordPress Themes

Carbon

Carbon is the WordPress theme I wrote for this site, and I am making it available to anyone who wants to use it. Just download the zip folder and extract it into your WordPress themes directory to start using it. The only thing you really need to change is the logo in the header. All you need is a new 80px by 80px image to replace “header.png” in the images directory. Feel free to use whatever image name and format you like, but remember to change it in the stylesheet to reflect the change.

Binary

Binary is another WordPress theme I wrote for my website. It is a heavily modified version of Carbon with a lot of changes to the style sheets and the assets. Like Carbon, it has a two-column layout with a darker theme, but I went for less subtle color for a more striking style.
